Although I had heard of the Rabbit before, and I believe somebody had built a custom based on one that was featured in the magazine, I did a bit of Googling about and found fujirabbit.com. It turned out to be a very interesting site.
I was surprised to learn that there is a tie-in between the Nakajima Aircraft Company, of WWII fame, Fuji and Subaru.
I also learned that Fuji scooters came to be under conditions remarkably similar to Vespa and that the first Fuji scooter predated Vespas by about 6 months!
For those interested, it's worth a look.
RD 350? That should be ridiculously fast.
I do well to see even modern scoots around here. If there are any classics, they're well-hidden.
I wonder if some talented person with metal-bashing skills has ever undertaken to do a reproduction of an iconic scoot like this? I've read articles in MC magazines wherein people reproduce no-longer-available parts like fenders, legshields, etc., for classic MCs. Surely somebody who restores classic scoots could pull it off.
