Allstate Blog 1: What have I gotten myself into?
First things first- I have a bit of experience with Lambrettas but I am by no means a good mechanic. I recently impulse bought a 66 Bluebadge. It's my first Vespa. It's not pretty. It doesn't run. Now I have to deal with the consequences of looking at vehicles as if they were kittens in the pound and make it fly.
I am at the point now where it has spark, compression, changes gears, starts from time to tIme, runs rough and slow. I think my next step is to put on a larger carb and electronic ignition. Hoping it will solve most my issues without to much fiddling around. The goal here is to make a reliable scoot and get it done pretty quickly. I'd like to have done before the southeast rallies start in a couple weeks. I have no vespa book outside of the interweb so I would love it if anyone is kind enough to chip in their two cents. Normally I'd just post my questions on a board but I think this is going to be a little to long-winded.
1. How's my shopping list? I would like to spend less but isn't that always the case.
What am I forgetting? Do you have any better ideas? See numerous annoying questions
